There´s even more to it: it is claimed that the "idea" of a defined "National State" should have been a "European"/ "Western" which allegedly had been wrongly implanted into the "Middle East". But this isn´t true:this "idea" exactly COMES FROM the "Middle East" which IS "the cradle of the `Western Culture´ you describe incl.a rightful justice system, individual rights etc.
- With the founding of The State of Israel, this idea has RETURNED to the "Middle East" ! While "Islam" can only strive for and accept "ONE people, ALL UNDER ALLAAAAAAAAH united in ISLAAAAAAAAAM".
THAT is what originally was absent in the "Middle East" and was forcedly put upon the multi-diverse ethnics of the Levante and "West Asia".
But facts such as these don´t appear in the "discussion".
I don't necessarily agree with the Mideast being the cradle of Western culture, but I do agree that it used to be more pluralistic than Islam's totalitarian monotheism.
So you don“t agree that „Christianity“ originates from The Holy Land as well as Judaism ? Of course there had been more happening in Europe over the centuries with other main contributions by a.o. Greek, British, French, Dutch etc., but the outcome mainly is perceived and described as ,Christian‘ which but really is a branch of Judaism. - But we don“ t need to quarrel about that. I was mainly only referring to the P*lestinian/Arabian claim that the idea of defined National States with own countries for several ethnics instead of a.o. ,Syria“ and other artificial Arabian dominated amalgams should have been implemented by „The Europeans“ as if there had never been distinctive ethnics with a strive for own states against Greek, Roman, Osman, Arabian occupation and colonization.
I agree that any ethnic claims about "Palestine" is bound to be contradictory. With regard to the West, I maintain that it stems from Athens, not Jerusalem.
That is fundamentally true - though with "Christianity" originating from Jerusalem spreading to the West there was something added to the Greek. For example, the Athenian idea, or version, of "democracy" was more of an "elite" affair, accessible only to certain segments of the population. The idea that all people, in their diversity, fundamentally have the same rights is Christian, or rather, originates from Judaism; indeed, it was a key point of contention between Jesus and "orthodox" Judaism—from which Jesus never actually renounced himself, but which he rather had deeply valued—that such foundations, actually inherent in Judaism, had been somewhat got "lost."
